1. Preamble

In summary: Mirror is an application designed to help you regain control of your screen time. Your personal screen time data remains on your device. By using Mirror, you agree to these terms.

1.1 Our Mission

Mirror aims to support its users toward a more conscious and balanced use of their smartphones. We offer screen time tracking tools, app blocking, and the development of healthy digital habits to help everyone reclaim their time.

1.2 Identity of the Developer

The Mirror application is developed and published by Jordan Gloaguen, sole proprietor, located at 61 rue Chevalier de Kermelec, Quimper, 29000, France.

Host: Firebase (Google Cloud Platform), 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA.

1.3 Privacy Commitment

We want to be transparent from the start: your screen time data is processed locally on your device using Apple's Screen Time API (DeviceActivity and FamilyControls frameworks). Mirror does not have access to the details of the apps you use or the exact duration of your usage on its own servers. We do not sell, rent, or share any screen time data with third parties. Period. For more details on how your data is handled, please refer to our Privacy Policy.

1.4 Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the Mirror application, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and accepted these Terms of Service (the "Terms") without reservation. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the application.

2. Description of Service

In summary: Mirror allows you to track your screen time, block distracting apps, and schedule focus sessions.

2.1 Core Features

Mirror offers the following features:

  • Screen Time Tracking: Visualization of your daily device usage, identifying the most used apps and their distracting nature.
  • Blocking Sessions: Creation of focus sessions during which selected apps are blocked. Three types of sessions are available:
    • Quick Sessions: Immediate blocking for a set duration.
    • Recurring Sessions: Scheduled recurring time slots for blocking.
    • Recurring Limits: Definition of daily usage limits for specific apps.
  • Distracting App Selection: Ability to choose apps and categories considered distracting.
  • Pause System: Ability to temporarily pause a blocking session, depending on the parameters set during session creation.
  • Digital Well-being Journey: Access to lessons and educational content to develop better digital habits.
  • Personalized Profile: Creation of a profile with a name and avatar to personalize your experience.

2.2 Dependency on Apple's Screen Time API

Mirror's operation relies on the Screen Time frameworks provided by Apple (DeviceActivity, FamilyControls, ManagedSettings). As such:

  • Mirror requires your explicit authorization to access your device's Screen Time functionality. Without this, tracking and blocking features will not function.
  • If you revoke this authorization in your device settings, Mirror will no longer be able to monitor or block app usage.
  • iOS Updates by Apple may change how the Screen Time API works. Mirror cannot be held responsible for interruptions or malfunctions resulting from changes made by Apple to its frameworks.

3. User Account

In summary: You are responsible for your login information and the security of your device.

3.1 Account Creation

To access certain features, you may be asked to provide personal information (name, email, etc.). You agree to provide accurate, complete, and up-to-date information.

3.2 Account Security

You are solely responsible for the security of your device. You agree to protect access to your device (Face ID, Passcode) and notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

3.3 Minimum Age

Mirror is reserved for users aged 13 or older. If you are between 13 and 17, you declare that you have obtained permission from your legal guardian.

4. Subscriptions and In-App Purchases

In summary: Mirror offers a Free version and a Premium subscription. Payments are managed by Apple. Renewals are automatic unless disabled 24 hours before the end of the period.

4.1 Available Offers

  • Free Version: Access to basic features.
  • Premium Version: Access to all advanced features (Monthly or Yearly subscription).

4.2 Payment

All payments are processed by Apple via your iTunes/Apple ID account. Prices include applicable taxes. Mirror reserves the right to change its rates at any time, with changes taking effect at the next renewal.

4.3 Auto-Renewal

Subscriptions automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage this in your Device Settings > [Your Name] > Subscriptions.

4.4 Refunds

Purchases made via the App Store are subject to Apple's refund policy. Mirror cannot directly refund App Store purchases. Please contact Apple Support or visit reportaproblem.apple.com.

5. Intellectual Property

In summary: Mirror is licensed to you, not sold. All content in the app belongs to us.

5.1 Mirror's Rights

All elements of the Mirror application—including code, design, graphics, logos, and the "Mirror" trademark—are the exclusive property of the Developer.

5.2 Usage License

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable license to use Mirror for personal use. Any reproduction, modification, or reverse-engineering is strictly prohibited.

6. User Content and Feedback

In summary: If you share an idea or feedback with us, we can use it freely to improve Mirror.

If you voluntarily send us suggestions or ideas ("Feedback"), you grant us a free, worldwide, perpetual, and irrevocable right to use and exploit this Feedback without compensation or credit.

7. Limitation of Liability

In summary: Mirror is a tool. We do our best, but we cannot guarantee specific results or permanent availability.

7.1 No Guarantee of Results

Mirror is a tool to help manage screen time. We do not guarantee that its use will make you more productive or improve your well-being. Results depend on your personal commitment.

7.2 Strict Mode Functionality

Some blocking sessions can be configured without the possibility of a pause (Strict Mode). In this case, you will not be able to access blocked apps for the duration of the session, even by restarting your device. By activating this mode, you accept this restriction. Mirror is not responsible for any inconvenience or unforeseen emergencies occurring during a Strict Mode session. We strongly recommend always leaving essential apps (Phone, Messages, Health) outside of your block lists.

7.3 Availability

Mirror is provided "as is." We do not guarantee that the app will be uninterrupted or error-free. Interruption may occur due to maintenance or iOS updates.

7.4 Financial Liability

To the extent permitted by law, the total liability of the Developer is limited to the amount you actually paid for the app during the twelve (12) months preceding the claim. For free users, our liability is limited to twenty euros (€20).

8. Governing Law and Disputes

In summary: French laws apply. In case of disagreement, we will try to find a solution together first.

8.1 Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with French Law.

8.2 Jurisdiction

Any dispute that cannot be resolved amicably or through mediation will be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Quimper, France.
